FAQs

  • I understand these style of cabins are “exempt” from Council Approval, is this true?

No, if you’re wanting to use your cabin as an home office, extra bedroom, pool house etc. it will need to be certified. It won’t be exempt.

  • Do your cabins have Australian Standard glass installed?

Yes. This is a necessary requirement for all cabins built Australia wide and comes as standard with our cabins.

  • Can I live in my cabin?

If you choose our Class 1 option they are all habitable. Class 10 options are Domestic Sheds and should only be used for that purpose.

  • Can you provide me with a fully fitted cabin?

Yes, we can, but we have found most of our customers prefer us to build our Class 1 cabins to lock up stage and then they create their own personalised finishes.

  • Who will build my cabin?

We have our own dedicated team of professionals that have built hundreds of cabins over the last 10 years.

  • If I get a cabin in my backyard, will the cabin need to be lifted in by crane over my house?

No, all our cabins are built on site.

  • Do I need to paint my cabin?

Yes, your cabin should be painted as soon as possible after installation. This not only protects the timber, but it is a requirement for council approval. Most customers paint their cabins themselves, and as a bonding exercise with your new cabin we recommend it! Our cabins are a natural timber product and may expand and contract with the elements. We recommend the use of a knot sealer in your prep / undercoat to avoid any weeping. If you are not the DIY type, we are happy to put you in touch with one of our experienced cabin painters that can provide you with a quote.

  • Does my cabin need maintenance?
