Construction Approach and Materials
Our tiny houses are built using the ancient Finnish method and process of log cabin construction, centred on a system of interlocking walls. For strength, 34mm T&G boards are used for the walls and 19mm x 95mm T&G ceiling boards, eliminating the need for internal lining. R3 Anticon is applied for roof insulation, and the roof beams are 135mm x 34mm T&G.
All roofs and gutters are Colorbond, offered in a broad range of high-quality colours. Cabins come standard with double French doors and two double windows, with extra options available. The floor is YELLOW or GREEN tongue, providing a reliable base for any finish such as carpet, cork, tile or floating flooring.
Timber Quality and Design Benefits
The cabins are constructed from Nordic timber, known for maintaining high indoor air quality and suitable for those with allergies. All timber is sourced from FSC Certified Forests. The stylish, affordable designs offer versatility across various terrain types, with the natural timber contributing to an inviting and visually appealing space.
Certification Options and Pricing
All products can be built to different certification levels to suit your needs and budget. A popular choice, the 5×5 Moreton cabin, can be constructed as either a Class 10 Domestic Shed or a Class 1 Habitable Building.
Upgrading to a Class 1 Habitable cabin involves internal studding or framing, adding insulation, recladding the walls and including the electrical package with a compulsory Smoke Alarm. Pricing is based on locations within 100 km of the Brisbane GPO, excluding the Bay Islands.

No, if you’re wanting to use your cabin as a home office, extra bedroom, pool house etc. it will need to be certified. It won’t be exempt.
