Construction Method and Materials
All log cabins, whether custom built or selected from the product range, are constructed using the ancient Finnish method of log cabin construction based on interlocking walls. For strength, 34mm T&G boards are used for the walls and 19mm x 95mm T&G ceiling boards, removing the need for internal lining. R3 Anticon is applied for roof insulation, and roof beams are 135mm x 34mm T&G.
Roofs and gutters are made from Colorbond and offered in a stylish, comprehensive range of colours. Each cabin includes double French doors and two double windows as standard, with additional options available. The floor is YELLOW or GREEN tongue, creating a solid base for any finish, including carpet, cork, tile or floating flooring.
Timber Quality and Design Versatility
Cabins are crafted from Nordic timber, which maintains excellent indoor air quality and is suitable for those with allergies. All timber is sourced from FSC Certified Forests. The cabin designs provide versatility and adaptability to suit various lifestyles and terrains, with natural timber contributing to an appealing and inviting atmosphere.
Certification Options and Pricing
Cabins can be built to different certification levels based on your needs. A popular model, the 5×5 Moreton cabin, may be constructed as either a Class 10 Domestic Shed or a Class 1 Habitable Building.
When upgrading to a Class 1 Habitable cabin, essential additions include internal studding or framing, insulation, recladding the walls and an electrical package that includes a compulsory Smoke Alarm. Pricing is based on locations within 100 km of the Brisbane GPO, excluding the Bay Islands.
